SPECIALIST FOSTER CARER TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

County Fostering are committed to providing specialist training to ensure our foster carers are equipped with the skills to make a difference to a child’s life. We provide comprehensive Foster Carer Training designed to fully prepare and support you throughout your career. We deliver high-quality, relevant Foster Care Training Courses for all our valued carers in Northampton and Milton Keynes.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING

County Fostering recognises that each carer will start their fostering journey with their own unique skills and life experiences to enable them to make continuous improvements to the child. However, through completing regular training we believe the best carers are committed to ensure they fully understand how to support the child’s needs and to ensure they remain up to date with new legislation and techniques.

Whilst fostering can be very rewarding, we appreciate that at times it can be challenging. Therefore County Fostering believes it is important each foster carer is given the support they require and are equipped with the tools they need to help them grow and develop.

Ongoing development is key to providing exceptional care. Our structured programme of Foster Carers Training and Development ensures you meet all legislative requirements and are confident in managing the unique needs of every child. We make this essential Training For Foster Carers accessible across both Northampton and Milton Keynes.

WHAT TRAINING WILL I COMPLETE?

Training is mandatory and will be provided by specialist trainers. All new and experienced carers receive Mandatory Foster Care Training upon joining our agency. This structured curriculum ensures all our Foster Carers Training meets the highest standards of care and regulation.

Once approved, all new foster carers will complete skills to foster training, followed by TSDS (training, support and development standards).

Training will include (but is not limited to):
– First aid
– Safeguarding
– Reporting and recording
– Safer care and allegations
– Therapeutic care
– Preparing for independence and leaving care
– Financial abuse
– De-escalation
– PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy)

WHAT TRAINING WILL I COMPLETE?

Training is mandatory and will be provided by specialist trainers.
Once approved, all new foster carers will complete skills to foster training, followed by TSDS (training, support and development standards).
Training will include (but is not limited to): First aid, Safeguarding, Reporting and recording, Safer care and allegations, Therapeutic care, Preparing for independence and leaving care, Financial abuse, De-escalation, PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy)
